Human rope machine; this simple, fun, and mind blowing human powered technology will allow us to make a grass rope thicker then your arm and over a hundred feet long. This method was used in ancient times to make the grass rope for bridges that could hold the weight of horse drawn carriages. We will preface this activity by learning how to make cordage on a small scale with native plant fibers and end the workshop with the biggest game of jump rope you’ve ever seen.
