Earthen Pottery
Learn about the history of earthen pottery, various functional designs, and how to find clay sources on the land. We will cover slab, coil, pinch pots and molding over forms to create our pottery and pit fire a collection of pre-dried pots to practice the firing process. We will use materials found in nature to make designs, burnish our pottery, and make a basic pigment for bringing our pots to life! Folks will walk away with the knowledge of how to pit fire at home, or if you prefer, can leave your pottery with us to fire all together when they are dried. If you leave them here, you will need to pick up or pay to have your pieces shipped to you. Taught by Andrew Hobbs.
August 3rd. 9am-4pm. 90$ (includes materials). Bring your own lunch.
